The next time you visit Troy’s Tropics, Albritton’s Nursery or Tropiflora, you may see something new by the cash registers – colorful “Thank A Landscaper” rack cards created by ArtisTree Landscape Maintenance & Design and distributed to nurseries to raise awareness of the landscaping industry.
The cards invite customers to visit thankalandscaper.com and “thank a teacher, friend, family or business” — anyone whose efforts in “the great outdoors go unnoticed.” Messages are then posted on the site, with the goal to collect enough thank-yous nationwide so scholarships can be created for students pursuing careers in the landscape industry.
“Right now we’re talking to various associations and industry leaders to attract support and sponsorships on a national level,” said Debra Morrow, ArtisTree vice-president of marketing. “It’s the proverbial pick-and-shovel work, but we believe in what we’re doing and are in it for the long haul.”
